So I got a major haircut and I’ve been on that South Beach diet for a little over two weeks now and it rules.
It’s amazing how depriving yourself of all sugar for two weeks makes formerly barf-able foods, like carob . . . and cardboard carbs taste as delicious as a hot fudge sundae supreme from Coldstone. . .

You know, I like to check in on the news and reviews over at Pitchfork every once in a while… but god, how I despise their flashing American Apparel advertisements. . .

My Grandma’s name is my middle name.
I barfed all the way home from Hawaii.
It was the longest flight of my life.
Before M and I even took off into the sky, I was already puking my brains out in the tiny little airplane lavatory. And horror upon horrors, immediately had to turn myself right around and diarrhea-d my brains out. . .

Happy pictures M made for my Grandma.
My mom called me this morning while I was braiding M’s hair, getting her ready for school in the usual running late rush. . .

I didn’t sleep last night and when that happens, well, I end up podcasting and babbling!
So here ya go, my first podcast for 2007:
(I had some problems with this one, so please pardon my crappy sound issues and hard “P” sounds. Sorry if I blow your eardrums out. I messed up putting it together about 5 times, always right at the end. Wah.)
So, yeah, I’m glad it’s done and you all better listen to it. . .

There’s just something about the desert which makes my eyes feel like hell.
I don’t know if it’s the dry, dusty conditions.
The contrasting landscape and visuals, but for whatever reason, I felt blind as a bat on a recent visit to Las Vegas. . . like I was walking around half asleep, through some too dry dream.
So, I decided to give contacts a try again and went out for an eye exam.

Some Chagall. I think.
I am seriously running out of memory on my PB.
Today I reached “zero” and I feel like I’ve moved all that I can over to the hard drive and have now arrived at a point where maybe… I am just done.
Yup.
Long week.
My family from Vegas were visiting.
And guess who came?
Remember my cousin’s wife? The one from Buffalo?
Yes, her. . .

People start blogs for all sorts of reasons.
A lot of you have your own and are aware of whatever reasons you had in starting and maintaining yours.
Way back when, I started my blog as a way to express a side of myself, of who I am, that I had lost through the events of my life.
Life is complicated, and as a friend said, “life is all of these gradients of gray”’ and every person, relationship, experience… good or bad, big and small you encounter, touches your future and creates the path you take towards it….

The Books @ the Casbah, San Diego :: April 15, 2006
Just home from Hawaii, I was pretty exhausted jet-lagged, thrown off, emotionally out of it, achy shouldered, but nevertheless went to see The Books and Clogs @ the Casbah Friday evening
And good golly, I was so glad I did…
