Rest my || Celery

So I got a major haircut and I’ve been on that South Beach diet for a little over two weeks now and it rules.

It’s amazing how depriving yourself of all sugar for two weeks makes formerly barf-able foods, like carob . . . and cardboard carbs taste as delicious as a hot fudge sundae supreme from Coldstone. . .

F-U '06!

I didn’t sleep last night and when that happens, well, I end up podcasting and babbling!

So here ya go, my first podcast for 2007:

(I had some problems with this one, so please pardon my crappy sound issues and hard “P” sounds. Sorry if I blow your eardrums out. I messed up putting it together about 5 times, always right at the end. Wah.)

So, yeah, I’m glad it’s done and you all better listen to it. . .

The Books @ the Casbah, San Diego :: April 15, 2006

Just home from Hawaii, I was pretty exhausted jet-lagged, thrown off, emotionally out of it, achy shouldered, but nevertheless went to see The Books and Clogs @ the Casbah Friday evening

And good golly, I was so glad I did…

we are scientists WE ARE SCIENTISTS, April 3?, 2006 @ Casbah

This is the last show I saw before I left for Hawaii.

The opening band, The Grates, from Australia were awesome. The lead singer was this girl who was just so adorable, silly and happy. She hopped all over the stage and pretty much didn’t stop. . .

Belle & Sebastian @ the Wiltern, Los Angeles, 03.18.2006

So in the end, I only managed one night of Belle & Sebastian at the Wiltern.

I woke up Sunday feeling really horrible. I could barely speak and common sense told me that I should just go home.

Afterall, I kept telling everyone that as long as they did “Fox In The Snow” I would be the happiest girl in the place.

And guess what? . . .

Arctic Monkeys @ Henry Fonda, Los Angeles :: 3/15/06

Ever since I paid $600 for two tickets to Morrissey back in the umm… early ‘90s, I realized that a great show really is priceless.

Maybe you recall how I actually had a part-time job to exclusively fund my concert ticket purchases.

So yeah, the highly anticipated show…

Smiley Lara @ the Casbah

I did the podcast yesterday. I think Brad is the only person who probably listened to it… or at least half of it. Haha.

(Correction: just noticed he posted and actually made it through the whole thing!)

Anyway, it’s just some stuff I’ve been listening to a lot lately:

I started blabbing with “Everything Counts” in the background because my computer was making squeaky sounds like the beginning of that song.

So, I saw Ben Lee last night! . . .

stop. look. but don't listen.

This is my reject Flickr iPod Portrait Tuesday photo. They all came out boring and the black nano looked way too scratched, so I didn’t add to the pool – but oh how I love this Smiths’ song!

Speaking of lyrics…

Aww dang.

Has anyone bought the new Elefant album, The Black Magic Show? . . .
